SRC, MEBEKO, EDK, SERI, PsyCo or ESTI: each authority applies its own criteria. This overview gives a first indication, to be confirmed with the competent authority.
The free PreCheck is a compulsory first stage. A language requirement is part of the route. Once recognition is granted, registration in NAREG completes the process.
An EU qualification under the sectoral regime requires a certificate of conformity. Registration in the MedReg medical professions register is compulsory before practising. Specialist titles are assessed separately.
Level C2 is required in the language of instruction. The fee remains payable even if the decision is negative. There is no fast-track procedure.
The free PreCheck comes before recognition. Physiotherapy falls under the general system of recognition. Registration in NAREG follows recognition.
SERI handles professional recognition. Some cantons make practice conditional on REG registration. Whether it is actually needed depends on the canton and on how you practise.
SERI is competent for the recognition of engineering qualifications. Public clients frequently require REG. REG assumes about three years of practice after the qualification.
ESTI examines a legal equivalence that opens access to the activity. The application must match the activity you intend to carry out. The requirements published by ESTI prevail.
PsyCo examines the recognition of the psychology qualification. A postgraduate title, in psychotherapy in particular, is assessed separately. Whether the qualification comes from the EU/EFTA or from a third country affects the examination.

For an unregulated higher education profession, Swiss ENIC may issue a non-binding statement of level. The employer then remains free to assess your qualification.
