Frequent questions
The first bearings
Do I always need to have my qualification recognised?+
No. Recognition is required where the profession is regulated. Where it is not, the employer usually assesses the qualification, and a Swiss ENIC statement may add weight to it.
How long should I allow?+
Timelines vary widely. A standard procedure can take about four months, while a complex individual examination can exceed a year. No timeline can be guaranteed.
Is my EU qualification recognised automatically?+
Not always. Some professions benefit from sectoral recognition where every condition is met. Otherwise the authority compares the training and may require a compensation measure.
